Broth? Juice? Soup? What is it and why is it so darn good? Lobster Nectar is special and it can only be found at Skipper’s Bay Lobster.
Let us explain.
When we pick the meat from our cooked lobsters we collect the drippings and these drippings are what we call Lobster Nectar. We could keep it simple and just say it’s the drippings from a lobster, but it’s so much more than that. The flavor you’ll find in our Lobster Nectar is spectacular and it’s because we source and use only the freshest and best lobster in Southern Maine. It’s because of how we steam our lobsters, the care and time we take. It’s because of how we break down our lobster and how we collect its succulent drippings. The care, time and passion for our product is what makes Skipper’s Bay Lobster Nectar such an artisanal product.
The name Lobster Nectar was coined by Mike McQuade, vice president of Skipper’s Bay Lobster. He named it after its beautiful color, like the nectar of a fruit. It’s so full of flavor and nutrients that it makes an excellent base in your soups, bisques or chowders. Better than any lobster or fish broth you could find. This is the case because it’s actual lobster drippings and not just the water the lobster was steamed in.
Make sure you add some Lobster Nectar to your next Skipper’s Bay Lobster purchase and remember, it’s not broth – it’s better!
